Iranian media reports say ‘Irreversible’ will take part in the 15th edition of the festival.
“A country is occupied by foreigners. And there is only one survivor left. The occupiers have changed everything: Streets, names, languages, flags, etc. The survivor has been fighting for thirty-seven years. Endless war, with undeniable reality,” a synopsis for the film reads.
‘Irreversible’ was awarded at the 12th International Youth Film Festival “Light to the world” in Russia.
Launched in 2008, the IFF is “the first independent Iranian film festival outside of Iran”, according to website of the event.
It is an annual event that showcases “independent feature and short films made by or about Iranians from around the world”.
The festival is aimed to “support the Iranian film and culture in the Iranian-American community of the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond”.
The upcoming edition of the festival will take place on September 17-18.
